Middle School Marauders

The Lords of the Pit and Eternal Central are proud to announce the Middle School Marauders series, an ongoing series of events celebrating Middle School. Future events in this series will likely be opened up to the public every month or two, and be posted here and online at https://twitter.com/middleschoolmtg.

Tournament Entry and Prizes

The next Middle School Marauders tournament will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019.
Tournament start time is 12:00pm sharp (please arrive by 11:45am to check in, get set up, and do card signing).
Tournament structure and length will be SWISS+1 (5 or 6 rounds total, depending on number of players). There will be no draws allowed, and at the end of 50 minutes if there is a tied match both players will go to 5 extra turns, and then dice will be rolled to determine a winner. We came to game, not draw. Play a fun deck, imbibe, and have a blast with friends new and old!
Prizes will again be awarded by the Lords of the Pit and Eternal Central, and will be Middle School cards. Please bring a black bordered staple/playable card to contribute if you’d like (or alternatively, you may want to have everyone sign one card from your deck that day as your personal trophy). At this event and going forward there will also be a special prize awarded for Most Creative Deck.
Entrance Fee will be donations (suggested amount $10-20 worth of supplies) for Charles S. Brownell Elementary School, a local school in Chicago that could use our help. Please bring some of the following items (all can be found at your local Target, Office Max, or on Amazon):

    TI – 30X IIS calculators
    Mechanical Pencils
    2 Pocket Folders
    Post-It Notes

Tournament Format and Rules

This Middle School tournament will observe the Banned and Restricted List found in the rules on the Middle School rules page here. This page always has a complete list of deck construction rules, sets allowed, errata, and the most up to date Banned and Restricted List. This is a non-proxy event, and per the rules above you are allowed to play any legal reprint defined in the rules linked above.

Tournament Site

Tournament Location:
4223 W Lake St
Chicago, IL 60622

This is an industrial building with secure/keyed entry, so you will have to be let in when you arrive. Call or message Jaco (or Nathan or somebody else you know, if no answer), and he will come let you in. There is plenty of free street parking, but as usual in Chicago, do not leave anything visible/unattended in your car (store anything in trunk). This is also about 2.5 blocks from the Pulaski Green Line stop.

This is a private BYOB event, and we will also have plenty of liquor and non-alcoholic options on hand (coffee, tea, Gatorade, soda, etc.). Bring whatever you want to drink and/or share if you want something specific.

This is a private invitation only event, with a capped number of players due to space. If you or a friend would like to register please email support@eternalcentral.com ASAP if you definitely plan on attending. These are capped due to space, so please only register if you will actually show up on game day.
