Middle School Marauders

The Lords of the Pit and Eternal Central are proud to announce the Middle School Marauders series, an ongoing series of events celebrating Middle School. Future events in this series will likely be opened up to the public every month or two.

Tournament Entry and Prizes

The next Middle School Marauders tournament will be held on [date to be determined; all EC events have been put on hold due to COVID]. NOTE: THIS MONTH’S MIDDLE SCHOOL MARAUDERS IS A SPLIT FORMAT EVENT CALLED MARCH MAYHEM, AND FULL DETAILS, RULES, AND SIGNUP CAN BE FOUND HERE.
Tournament start time is 12:00pm sharp (please arrive by 11:45am to check in, get set up, and do card signing).
Tournament structure and length will be SWISS+1 (5 or 6 rounds total, depending on number of players). There will be no draws allowed, and at the end of 50 minutes if there is a tied match players will go to 5 extra turns, and then there will be a Game of Chaos, using existing life totals (Flip a coin. If you win the flip, you gain 1 life and target opponent loses 1 life, and you decide whether to flip again. If you lose the flip, you lose 1 life and that opponent gains 1 life, and that player decides whether to flip again. Double the life stakes with each flip.). We came to game, not draw. Play a fun deck, imbibe, and have a blast with friends new and old!
Prizes will again be awarded by the Lords of the Pit and Eternal Central, and will be Middle School cards. Please bring a black bordered staple/playable card to contribute if you’d like (or alternatively, you may want to have everyone sign one card from your deck that day as your personal trophy). At this event and going forward there will also be a special prize awarded for Most Creative Deck.
Entrance Fee will be new and unused physical toy donations (suggested amount $10-20 worth of supplies), which will be donated to local charities in Chicago for distribution during the coming holidays.

Tournament Format and Rules

This Middle School tournament will observe the Banned and Restricted List found in the rules on the Middle School rules page here. This page always has a complete list of deck construction rules, sets allowed, errata, and the most up to date Banned and Restricted List. This is a non-proxy event, and per the rules above you are allowed to play any legal reprint defined in the rules linked above.
