Beef Bash 2017 Old School 93-94 Tournament

The Lords of the Pit and Eternal Central are proud to announce Beef Bash 2017, a charity Old School Magic 93-94 event in Chicago, on Saturday June 17 2017.

Tournament Entry & Prizes

The first annual Beef Bash Old School 93-94 tournament will be held on Saturday, June 17 2017.
Tournament start time is 11:30am (we will open earlier for deck reg and card signing; plan on showing up a little early).
Tournament structure and length will be SWISS+1 (equaling 6 rounds total). There will be no draws allowed, and at the end of 50 minutes if there is a tied match both players will do a sudden death Chaos Orb flipping contest (complete details in our Old School 93-94 rules here). This is to keep the pace of play and keep the day going more smoothly than last year. Play a fun deck, imbibe, and have a blast with friends new and old!
Prizes will again be awarded by the Lords of the Pit and Eternal Central, and will be Old School cards in flavor and nature, Alpha through Fallen Empires. This is a tournament for fun, and not ‘EV,’ so if you’re expecting to pay off your car with your winnings at this or any other Eternal event you will sadly be disappointed. We already have a number of goodies in hand, but if you wish to donate any cards to this please email jaco@eternalcentral.com. One prize that we are happy to announce is a playset of Erhnam Djinns, altered by Dominic, that will be awarded to the player with the highest total/cumulative creature power in the main deck (pictured below).

Tournament entry fee will be donation to the charity we have selected for this event. Chicago Old School will this time be donating a clothing drive for sexual assault victims. The University of Chicago’s Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) are in constant need of comfortable t-shirts and pants for victims of sexual assault. The clothing sexual assault victims come in wearing is often collected for evidence, and the lack of fresh clothing makes victims feel more vulnerable in an already difficult situation. The SANE Team provides victims with clothes to wear home or to a shelter. The items needed are new adult sweat pants and t-shirts in sizes medium, large, and extra large. We can buy high quality American made t-shirts from the distributor at cost if you wish to donate cash, or feel free to bring new sweatpants or something that fits the description. DO NOT FORGET YOUR TOURNAMENT ENTRY FEE.

Tournament Format & Rules

The Eternal Central Old School 93-94 tournament will observe the Banned & Restricted List found in the rules on the EC Old School 93-94 rules page here. This page always has a complete list of deck construction rules, sets allowed, errata, and the most up to date Banned & Restricted List. This is a non-proxy event, and per the rules above you are allowed to play any reprint if it is (1) Original Art, (2) Original Frame, and (2) Non-foil. This includes Chronicles Erhnam Djinn, 4th Edition Sylvan Library, Timeshifted Psionic Blast, and CE/IE Moxes, for example. I have now set up an Old School Lending Library, with tons of cards available for you to borrow for a specific day or event, ranging from Swords to Plowshares to dual lands to Field of Dreams to The Abyss. It can be found online here.
